To a child in September, the school year will never end, but holidays and birthdays along the way make it much easier to understand how long nine months is. The same way, assign yourself weekly goals and assess your progress that way while working toward the biggie.

 

I am always aware of how much fat and calories are in the food I eat. Keep in mind that each gram of fat has nine calories. Fat should make up no more than twenty percent of your total calories. This means that something with 'only' 100 calories is fattening if it has eight grams of fat, since 72 of its 100 calories comes from fat. Being mindful of this is a powerful tool.

 

When I have a craving, I can handle it without eating. We all have our methods. Chewing gum can sometimes ward off cravings, as can drinking a glass of water. Some people even find that keeping their hands busy helps. If you feel compelled to quench that craving, you need a way to handle it.

 

I reward myself for overcoming obstacles. You are much more advanced than Fido, but isn’t it easier to shape his behavior using biscuits as rewards? This works with people, too, and not just children. When you’ve lost that first five pounds, do something for yourself, even if it’s just saying, 'Yeah, I’m good!'

These things aren’t necessary. They’re just examples, but many people make simple foods very fattening by adding the extras. Learn to eat things without all the frills and you’ll avoid a lot of unwanted fat and calories.

 

I spend less than one hour per day watching television. It’s definitely addictive, especially when a great deal is going on in the world and the news is intriguing. Keeping busy is probably the best habit you can adapt, though. If you have three or four hours of television to watch every day, you’re depriving your body of activity.

Why Creating A Vision Is So Important To Achieving Your Goals

While goal setting and planning are activities that are important to achieving your dreams, creating a vision is an important first step. You need to know first what you want to achieve in life. What are your dreams? What kind of a person do you want to be? What do you want to build? What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

As you answer these questions, start visualizing how you will be when you have achieved that vision. Do not dismiss this as day dreaming. Consistent visualization done daily will attract the right resources to you. This is the power of the mind.

Why Creating A Vision Is So Important To Achieving Your Goals

Creating a vision board will help you tremendously. A vision board is a poster board on which you can paste pictures torn out of various magazines. Look for pictures that reflect your dreams and desires.

Go through the magazines and tear out pictures that fit your vision of what you want to be. Have fun with this. Do not paste the pictures yet.

Once you have selected your pictures, lay them out on the poster board. Eliminate the pictures that do not fit. As you do this exercise, you will typically intuitively know which pictures you like.

You could organize the board such that different sections may be for different aspects of your life, like career, family, spiritual, social and others that you may have in mind. Some people like the images to be spread all over the board. Choose what feels best for you. You then paste the pictures.

Once you have pasted the pictures, you can then use markers to write anything that you want on the board.

An excellent idea would be to paste a photo of you looking radiant and happy right at the center of the board.

Put up the vision board somewhere you will see it often. Each time you see it, besides the pictures you see, add your emotions to your thoughts. Imagine as if you already achieved what you have created on your vision board.

Some obese patients who have weight-loss surgery develop gallstones. Gallstones are clumps of cholesterol and other matter that form in the gallbladder. During rapid or substantial weight loss, a person’s risk of developing gallstones increases. Taking supplemental bile salts for the first 6 months after surgery can prevent gallstones.

 

  • Nearly 30 percent of patients who have weight-loss surgery develop nutritional deficiencies such as anemia, osteoporosis, and metabolic bone disease. These deficiencies usually can be avoided if vitamin and mineral intakes are high enough.
  • Women of childbearing age should avoid pregnancy until their weight becomes stable because rapid weight loss and nutritional deficiencies can harm a developing fetus.

The medical costs of gastrointestinal weight loss surgery can be high. ($20,000+). Medical insurance coverage varies by state and insurance provider. Waking up everyday miserable and feeling depressed is such a common problem. We dread going to work and hate our jobs and life. We constantly feel that we are living someone else’s dream and feel such regret that we are not doing what we thought we would do when we were young.

Being stuck in a rut is not fun at all. Everyday feels the same. Your mood is out of control, angry and sad at the same time. Something needs to change! And fast!

 

Why do we getting out of a rut?

 

There are many reasons we get stuck in a rut. The number one reason is actually fear and believing we are inferior. We are scared to live the live we deserve. Personally I was stuck in a rut for 12 years. My life seemed to be paused for 12 long years and nothing changed. I knew what I wanted to do, but I was just too shy and scared. I hated the feeling of getting more and more behind in life. Everyone is getting married, getting rich and gaining more friends. They seem happy while I was dying on the inside. I have never had a girlfriend and I was still living with my parents. I really felt like a complete failure. The worst was this was in my prime years from the age of 16 to 26. No money, no girl, no life.

 

By the time I turned 26 these feelings I had was getting so bad that I started thinking horrible things. I will die alone. Why can’t I just get up and live my own life? What’s wrong with me? Why are my friends so blind? Why don’t they help me?

 

I started searching internet heavily trying to find out if anyone else was going through this. I found many people with the same problem. This actually made my situation worse because I just read about more people suffering and felt like there was no hope. Then I stumbled across one article that stood out to me. It said to stop waiting for someone to rescue you; you need to rescue yourself because you have everything within you to do it.

 

The steps you need to getting out of a rut

 

After many more research I found a way to get out of the rut. Once I realized that I could make my own future become a reality, in a matter of days I felt really great. It’s almost like being born again and everything looks more colourful and hopeful.

 

1 - Change yourself from within

 

The very first step is that you need to realize that it’s up to you to make your own happiness. You need to stop looking for external support. You will wait forever and forever if you think that someone will come and save you. You are where you are in your life because of your actions alone.

 

You need to start looking inside of yourself. You have everything within you to change your life. You need to start listening to yourself and find out what you really want out of life and not what other people told you to do. Parents can be wonderful but they can also kill your soul when they force you into jobs you hate and the life you do not want. You know yourself best and only you know what would really make you happy.

 

2 - Find your purpose

 

 

When you do not know what your purpose in life is, it is like sailing through life blindly. Why does it matter what you do and why would you do it? Once you find your purpose you will have such motivation to achieve your goals that nothing will stop you. However it’s not always easy to find your true purpose. Just know that your purpose is inside you. In time it will come out and reveal itself.

 

Sometimes our purpose is buried so deep within ourselves because we suppressed it. It will take some time for it to come out. In the mean time, do what you know and feel that you want to do. Whether it is to buy a house, get a car or find a friend.
