Position Overview:
The Senior Instructional Design Specialist in the Learning & Development (L&D) team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative and effective learning solutions. This role focuses on creating engaging instructional content, leveraging modern learning methodologies, and utilizing technology to support the organization's training and development objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design & Development
Design and develop engaging training materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led courses, job aids, and assessments.
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create effective learning solutions.
Incorporate multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and interactive components to enhance learner engagement.
Needs Analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and skill gaps.
- Conduct audience analysis to tailor training programs to diverse learner profiles.
Develop and recommend appropriate training strategies and solutions based on analysis.
Content Delivery & Implementation
Partner with facilitators and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training is effectively delivered.
- Support the deployment of training programs through various platforms (e.g., LMS, webinars, in-person sessions).
Provide guidance on best practices for training delivery and learner engagement.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using established metrics (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model).
- Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously refine and improve learning content.
Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies in instructional design and learning.
Project Management
Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of quality solutions.
- Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field.
- A master's degree or certification in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related areas is a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or related L&D roles.
- Experience designing both digital and instructor-led training programs.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy).
- Proficiency in e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities with a learner-centric approach.
- Knowledge of visual design principles and multimedia tools is a plus.
