Takes initiatives to elaborate and implement the Oxfam PS priorities within the context of Egypt which focuses on linking small scale farmers with the domestic market, developing / documenting business models that link producers to domestic markets and improving CSR practices.

• Identifies opportunities at national level which contribute to the Oxfam PS objectives and reflects Oxfam's diverse approach: work with PS actors in multistakeholder initiatives or public private partnerships, develop a bilateral relationship with companies and / or fundraise with companies.

Develops and maintains a network of alliances and specialists in both NGO and PS sector in Egypt.

• Contributes to the development of Oxfam PS program and policies in Egypt by cooperating with (inter)national NGOs, PS actors in the field and building up up a strategic partner network and program portfolio.

The PS officer communicates results and lessons learned with Oxfam Novib Head Quarters.

• Builds on and contributes to the sharpening of the Oxfam Country Analysis and Strategy for Egypt.
• Contributes to the elaboration and implementation of the Egypt Country Program annual plan and identifies opportunities for external fund raising for PS related projects and programs.
• Initiates and facilitates 'Linking & Learning' for counterparts, and within Oxfam to draw lessons learned, strengthen program development, monitoring and evaluation; get the stories and business cases out of programs required for future programs & related fund raising
• Contributes to developing Oxfam policy regarding PS's role in development and is able to present these views to policy makers, private sector actors at national and regional level.

Initiates and participates in international -events.

• Ensures the One Program approach on PS at country level, by ensuring coherence and synergy between programs supported with counterparts, fund raising with back donors, campaigns, lobby and research activities.
• Have university degree in development studies, development economics, business administration, or related field and proven experience at this level.
• Have at least 5 years of work experience in the field of value chain development (from either a private sector or an NGO perspective) in the agribusiness sector and / or the food and beverage sector.
• Have knowledge of international CSR guidelines and principles (e.g UN Ruggie, FAO guidelines for responsible investment).
• Have affinity for the role of (international) civil society organizations in development and human rights work in Egypt.
• Have experience and knowledge of project cycle management, including monitoring, technical and financial reporting.
• Have an active commitment to promoting gender equity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of your work.
• Have a resultoriented work approach; able to work effectively in a setting of matrix management, in a team as well as independently.
• Have strong communication and coaching skills.
• Have willingness to travel regularly, nationally and internationally.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Applicants must be legally entitled (Egyptian nationality or work permit) to live and work in Egypt. A work permit cannot be obtained with support of Oxfam Novib.
