Currently, I am a Senior consultant General Surgeon in private hospitals in Egypt. I have been employed in the Faculty of Medicine at Jazan University as an assistant professor of general surgery I teach surgery for medical students at Jazan University, Faculty of Medicine, KSA (2009-2022). In addition to my role at the Faculty of Medicine, I taught surgery for students at both the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Health Sciences (surgical nursing students).

As a coordinator of the general surgery course at the Faculty of Dentistry, I have developed the new curriculum of the same course.

I believe that traditional lectures do not enhance student engagement. So, I do not rely on lectures; instead, I use alternative teaching methods, like small group discussion and problem-based learning, fostering more engagement of students and hence their intrinsic motivation.

I was assigned as the Head of the Surgical Curriculum Development Committee at the Faculty of Medicine which was responsible for the development of the surgical part of the new undergraduate curriculum. I was the Vice president of the Examination Unit which acts as a reference center for all matters of the Faculty examinations (2009-2022). Being a member of the Medical Education Unit and the Student Assessment Committee (SAC) (2009-2022), I have contributed to continuous revision and evaluation of the assessment process in the Faculty. 

I worked as a consultant general surgeon at Prince Mohammed Bin Nasser, Jazan University Hospital, and Jazan General Hospital. All of these hospitals are located in KSA.

I speak at several conferences and contribute to several kinds of research as a single and a co-other in general surgery and medical education.

As I am interested in medical and clinical education and training , I am about to complete my master of health professional education (JMHPE, Suez Canal University – Maastricht University). I also got an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Education, and Training the Trainer Course  from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

• Teaching and clinical training undergraduate medical students in collaboration with my colleagues in the Department of Surgery (2009-2022).
