Ahmed Elbadawy

I have been practicing as a vascular surgeon for 20 years without interruptions or gaps. I am working in a teaching university hospital, and that mandates achieving certain goals in a time frame as you can notice from my employment history. My current experience is centered around management of chronic limb threatening ischemia, diabe9c foot, chronic venous disease, and ESRD patients in need for a functioning vascular access. I do duplex scanning (both arterial and venous) for all my pa9ents, and that helped me enormously in US assisted procedures as superficial truncal vein abla9on, guided arterial or vein punctures or duplex guided revascularisa9on therapy.

My best interests are both in clinical and research pathways. I can present a logbook (signed by my senior professor and university dean), and a list of my publications are available in my CV. 

-2002 to date: Assiut University Hospital, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery department.

*  a teaching and university hospital with more than 3000 beds serving all medical and surgical specialties.

*  It’s located within the university campus, city of Assiut in the center of the Upper Egypt.

*  The department has a capacity of 32 beds, beside regular place of variable number in

trauma unit according to presenting patients and the need for intervention.

*  On call rota: once a week.

*  Teaching duties: teaching vascular and endovascular surgery course for under- & postgraduate students (2 hours/week)

*  Regular clinical work (day-basis apart from OR days): Patient ward visits, outpatient clinic (once weekly) performing history taking, examination and minor procedures.

*  Regular OR lists (2 lists/ week, one open and one endovascular): preparation, operator (main operator or first assistant), an overview of clinical competencies revised and signed by my senior surgeon and university dean is available.

*  Audit/ symposia: once weekly (department level, mostly operational)
