    Sr. Scientist (Translational Genetics)

    San Diego, CA (Hybrid is a possibility)

    Talentry is looking for a talented Scientist who is a master of the literature, and who is interested in understanding detailed biological mechanisms at the molecular level for novel drug discovery. The right person will have experience with genetic analysis.

    This person could be computationally focused, but the most important aspect is the ability to review novel drug targets to develop biological hypotheses for how targeting a specific gene or protein would provide a therapeutic benefit.

    This will involve working with multi-functional teams of scientists, engineers, informaticists, geneticists, software developers, and others to optimize computational solutions for discovering and analyzing potential therapeutical targets.

    The right person for this role will be able to translate data into therapeutic hypotheses, and work with the scientists to develop the design of in vivo and in vitro studies that would validate the hypotheses.



    Requirements

    Ph.D. in Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or similar related subject, with 0-3 years (0 years requires some similar proven research experience in an academic environment.) MS with 5+ years of experience.

    Proven knowledge of genetics and biology, able to interpret human genetic studies, derive therapeutic opportunities, and understand statistical genetics and genetic epidemiology.
