   Having grown up on a farm and helping my parents take care of the animals and crops, I already have hands-on experience over 4 years and know what this type of job entails . I knew that I wanted to pursue a career on a farm, so I earned a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture to learn more about the science and technology used to help farmers be more productive.

I know how to operate farm equipment such as tractors, balers and tillers and I have the ability to perform general maintenance on the equipment to help keep it in good working condition. I know when to plant the various crops and when to harvest for the best results. As well I can recognize the plat disease and the health problems in crops. And I had training in landscape.

I have the ability to perform the duties associated with being a Farm Supervisor such as Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, that may be physically demanding with repetitive tasks
Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination
Ability to work in various work environments: wet, damp, strong odours, dust, cold/refrigerated environments
Ability to supervise up to 15 employees, and handle various situations under pressure as a supervisor
Ability to read text, numeracy, problem solving, time management and customer relations skills

Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers, produce (mushrooms) packers and harvesting labourers
Supervise and oversee growing, harvesting procedures and other crop-related operations
Develop work schedules and establish procedures, may be required to attend regular meetings
Maintain quality control and production records
Ensure all health and safety procedures are being followed at all times by workers
Train new employees and assist workers in their duties as needed
Oversee the overall handling of produce to ensure production meets the highest quality of standards for the company
