Maryam Mahmoud

Dr. Maryam attained her PhD from Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, Architectural
department, in ’Enhancing daylight utilization in adaptive reuse of heritage buildings using
Building Information Modeling. Eng. Maryam worked as a part-time Lecturer & Researcher at
the Faculty of Engineering (Cairo University) and at the school of Science and Engineering
(American University in Cairo). She attained her bachelor’s degree in architecture and
Engineering Technology (AET) at Cairo University in 2012 with two international outreach
summer programs (Berkeley University, U.S.- St. John International University, Italy). She
worked as an Architect for ECG Engineering Consultants Group S.A. 2012-2016. Her experience
in building performance simulation has expanded since she received her LEED Certificate from
the USGBC in 2014. Eng. Maryam acquired her MSc in Environmental Design, Faculty of
Engineering, Cairo University in 2015. She has attended a Technical Building construction
workshop in Berlin for the application of building technologies in 2015 and similar workshops in
London, the U.K. from 2016-to 2019. She participated in the International Summer School
(After the damages. Prevention and safety solutions through design and practice on existing
built environment), Italy, in July 2021. Has received AUTODESK Certified BIM Management
Diploma 2022. She was a member of CETL research Team at Cairo University. She worked as
head of BIM architectural unit for Integrated Solutions Consultancy ISC 2021-2022. Currently
works as a BIM Specialist at TOWND Engineering Consultants. She continuously works on
developing research related to her field concerned with building performance analysis using
BIM and assessing sustainability pillars with active participation in international conferences
and more published work in reputable Journals. Additionally, she works as a part-time lecturer
at the Faculty of Engineering for Nile University and Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt.

• Received an Industrial Training outreach program at St. John International University (SJIU) in Vinovo (Torino), Italy. For a residential building design project, a Piazza design workshop, lecture attending sessions for 3 weeks (July 2011).
