حول Antoine Ibrahim:

Over my long teaching career, nineteen years in all now, I have acquired some expertise and skills which I dare say make me a good candidate for this post and an asset with a lot to contribute to the continuing success of the school.

In my previous school, I was the Math coordinator for KS5. my responsibilities included spotting underachievers and setting individual targets and intervention program for them, advising students on majors and Universities and writing them reference letters.

I believe that I possess qualities that distinguish me in my role of educator of not only KS5 but also KS3 and KS4 students with different abilities; I have seen through a low set Y10 into Y11, with commendable end GCSE results of 75% A to C.

I’d like to believe that my teaching style caters to the needs of all types of learners, whether visual, auditory or kinaesthetic. I also plan my lessons and assessments to encourage thinking at the various levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

As for classroom management, I believe in a vibrant learning environment governed by few golden rules that are enforced consistently in order for pupils to know where they stand at all times. Another quality that I try to uphold is to encourage all my students to work to their full potential, while acknowledging and praising good work. I also team them up in groups because I believe in peer teaching. Another point that I am keen to uphold is to maintain a good teacher-student rapport and trusting relationship and involve parents with their children education. Moreover, I have great enthusiasm and solid subject knowledge, an essential requirement for teaching any subject.

To conclude, I would say that over the years I have honed my classroom managerial skills and I feel that I am a good teacher and team player  with a vision for future developments and an aspiration to transpose the warm, supportive, friendly and energetic team member qualities that I am part of,  to wherever my career takes me.

Secondary Maths Teacher up to A-Level

Taught Math to year 8, 9, 10, AS, and A2 classes. Upon my arrival, the Science teacher was the head of ICT and Math as well as the head of Math but I was appointed to help running the Math department because of my wide experience. In addition to setting up a SOW for all years and overseeing the proper running of it within the department, I also would Instruct students, create lesson plans, assign and correct homework, manage students in classroom, communicate with parents, and assist students prepare for standardized testing. Plan, develop, and execute lessons that reflect curriculum and state’s core educational standards. Adapt mathematics curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet needs of identified students. Selected accomplishments: •     Identified under-achievers and actively monitored as well as enhanced performance by introducing intervention program through collaboration with head of department. • Employed effective teaching methodologies, which has seen a continued improvement in results so far. • AS and A2 pupils have already sat their P1 and P3 exam and they are very confident about the upcoming results. Now that we have come to the end of January, we have finished the whole syllabus in A2 and P1 and P2 in AS

Maths and Science Teacher

GRADE 7, 8 and 9 Math and SCIENCE TEACHER (2022 – 2023) In charge of teaching Math and Science to upper grades 7, 8 and 9, the only ones opened this first year of school. In addition to communicating with students and offering extra-curricular activities, my responsibilities also included marking homework both online and as hard copy, communicating with parents about their child’s progress, through emails, telephone calls and weekly newsletters, and differentiating instructions, tasks and assessments within the classroom to cater to the different types of learners and their abilities. Selected Accomplishment:

 Identified under-achievers and actively monitored as well as enhanced performance by introducing intervention program through collaboration with head of department. • Employed effective teaching methodologies, which has seen a continued improvement in results so far. • Given that this is the first year for the school, students have varying backgrounds and at times some students had to start from lower grades and progress forward to reach the class’ level. This issue was mostly common in English

·        Half-way through the semester and due to a science teacher resigning, I was offered to help out by taking charge of year 7 and 8 science and year ten physics teaching. I consented willingly and later on was praised for a good job.

·      Employed effective teaching methodologies, which resulted 80% of AS pupils scored over 85%, with one of them achieving a perfect score and came first in Egypt.

Analysed and improved under-achievers results/performance through implementation of plan of action by collaborating with parents. Employed variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, and lectures.

Selected Accomplishments:

·        Taught Y10 bottom set class from start and managed to pass their EOY exam with 45% of them achieving grade B and above.

SECONDARY MATHEMATICS TEACHER, KS5 COORDINATOR (2008 – 2016)

Designed teaching materials to sustain students’ interest in the subject, prepared weekly lesson plans on time, and interacted with students, parents, and faculty to monitor pupils' progress and early-spot underachievers. Monitored students’ progress in the subject and overall academic development.

Selected Accomplishments:

·        Taught students applying mathematical principles to solve problems, which resulted in achieving 95% (A to C) pass rate by KS5 Mathematics candidates and 100% (A* to C) pass grade by low middle GCSE.

·        Delivered expert-level guidance and consultation to colleagues on the use and operation of 3Sys (The newly introduced School information system).

KS3&4 MATHS AND KS3 SCIENCE TEACHER (2005 – 2008)

Taught and created lesson plans for whole range of classes throughout KS3 and KS4, including GCSE. Communicated with parents about students’ performance and executed action plan for improvement. Created positive educational climate for students to learn.

Selected accomplishment:

·        Developed interest of science among year 7 pupils, resulted in receiving high scores in EOY exam.

·        Enhanced skill level of KS3 pupils by developing and introducing a successful intervention program.
